What you get when you buy a guide, and what is expected in return

Who you are dealing with
The Actual Fix, a sole trader based in California, United States. Contact is [email protected] and it is answered personally.
What is sold
Written technical guides delivered as PDF files. Not video courses, not subscriptions, not software. Documents you download and keep.
Sales are processed by Payhip, and by using their checkout you also accept their terms.
Your licence
Buying a guide gives you a personal licence to use it. Read it, print it, keep it forever, use it at work, follow it on as many of your own machines as you like. There is no seat limit and no expiry.
What you may not do: resell it, republish it, post it publicly, or distribute copies. If someone else needs it, send them the link rather than the file.
Copyright in the text and images stays with The Actual Fix.
Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars on each guide's page and again at checkout before you pay. Any applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated and collected by Payhip at checkout.
Prices can change, but never for something you have already bought.
Delivery
Instant and automatic on payment. See customer support if a download does not arrive.
Refunds
Fourteen days, no questions asked. The full policy is at refunds.
No guarantee of outcome
Every guide is written and tested against real hardware and real software, and every claim is checked before it ships.
Software changes and hardware varies. Following a guide is at your own risk, and nothing here is a warranty that a particular result will occur on your particular machine. If a guide does not work for you, the refund policy is the remedy, and it is deliberately generous for exactly this reason.
To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to what you paid for the guide.
Corrections
Guides are updated when something is found to be wrong. If you bought one, email me and I will send you the corrected version at no cost. That applies however long ago you bought it.
Third party software
Guides reference software made by other people, including OBS Studio and its plugins. That software is not mine, I do not distribute it, and its own licences and terms apply. Names and trademarks belong to their owners, and their use here is descriptive rather than an endorsement in either direction.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt this site or resell access to it. That is the whole list.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Nothing here removes any statutory consumer right you have where you live.
Changes
If these terms change, the updated version appears on this page with a new date. Purchases are governed by the terms in force on the day you bought.
